5o Aqaba youth engage in empowerment program under Royal vision

Aqaba, July 21 (Petra) -- Aqaba Governor Ayman Al-Awaisheh stressed the importance of implementing His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II's vision in empowering youth and aligning achievements with the Royal vision and directives.

Speaking during a meeting with participants in the "Towards Active Youth" program, executed by the Ministry of Youth in partnership with Al-Thoria Studies Center, Al-Awaisheh praised the ministry's flagship youth initiatives and the role of Aqaba's Youth Directorate in supporting youth-led activities, developing leadership and decision-making skills, and promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, volunteerism, and sustainable community impact.

The program brought together 50 young men and women from Aqaba's youth centers and was attended by Aqaba Assistant Governor for Development Sultan Hassan, Aqaba Youth Directorate Director Ahmad Al-Hassan, Al-Thoria Studies Center General Manager mohammad aljribia, and representatives of the project's supporting organization.

Al-Awaisheh said young people are the driving force behind Jordan's future and a cornerstone of the Kingdom's comprehensive development.

He stated youth make up the majority of Aqaba's population and represent the governorate's strongest asset for achieving sustainable development.

He also underscored the role of informed youth in combating misinformation and protecting social cohesion by promoting factual information.

"Investing in young people's potential is a national responsibility that reinforces Jordan's position as a model of progress driven by its citizens," he pointed out.

In turn, Hassan highlighted the role of youth centers in preparing future leaders and "institutionalizing sustainable" volunteer programs that equip young people with practical and life skills, while aligning with the Royal vision to expand youth participation in national development.

Hassan reaffirmed the Ministry of Youth's commitment to leadership development and volunteerism, citing Youth Minister Raed Adwan's emphasis on sustaining youth programs, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, and strengthening the principles of sustainable community impact.

Al-Thoria Center General Manager mohammad aljribia commended the participants for their strong performance throughout the program.

Meanwhile, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Resident Representative Veronika Ertl expressed appreciation for Aqaba Governorate's support in ensuring the program's success.

Participants said the program enhanced their leadership skills, strengthened their spirit of initiative and volunteerism, and provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and developing their capabilities.

They also called for expanding similar initiatives to better prepare young people for the labor market and future careers.
